How to Track Your Overnight Fast Without Starting a Timer
If you log dinner and breakfast, GlucoPlot already knows your overnight gap. See last night, the past week and your usual gap — and set a gentle goal only if you want one.
The trouble with fasting timers is remembering to start them. But if you already log your meals, the information is there: the gap between your last meal of the day and your first meal of the next one. GlucoPlot works that out for you.
Seeing your overnight gap
Log your last meal and your first one
That's the whole requirement. A late snack counts, so log that too — a snack after midnight is treated as part of the evening before.
Open Fasting
It's under More. The top card shows last night's gap, seven bars for the past week with your goal drawn as a line across them, and your usual gap once there are a few nights to go on. Before breakfast it shows the gap still running — “12 h 40 m since your last meal”.
Set a goal only if it helps
Choose 12, 14, 16, 18 or 20 hours, or your own number up to 24, and tap Start. On Android there is also a one-tap start on the dashboard after a meal, which counts from your last bite rather than from when you tapped. You get one quiet notification when you reach your goal.
Eat, and log it
Logging a meal ends a running fast at the meal's time. If that wasn't what you meant — you were logging something from earlier — tap Undo. Forgot to start or stop? Tap the start time to move it, or tap a finished fast to correct it.
If you wear a sensor
When there are measured readings across a fast, the app shows their plain range beside it — “Glucose during this fast: 88–104”. It is your own data, shown without a verdict. People without a sensor simply don't see this line; there is nothing sensible to estimate overnight.
Why the app stops at a day
GlucoPlot offers goals up to 24 hours and nothing longer. Multi-day fasts are a significant undertaking that belong with a healthcare professional, not a wellness app, so we don't put a button for them on your phone. For most people the interesting number is the ordinary one anyway: whether the gap between dinner and breakfast is usually ten hours or usually thirteen.
The Coach has a focus for exactly that — 12 hours overnight — judged from your meal logs, so it works even if you never touch the timer.
GlucoPlot is a general wellness app. This article is informational and is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Everyone responds to food differently — talk to a qualified healthcare professional about your own health, and never change medication or treatment based on anything you read here or see in the app.
