How to Scan a Nutrition Label or Barcode (and See Your Week in Nutrients)
Point the camera at a label or a barcode and the numbers are copied in — including vitamins and minerals when the pack prints them. Then see your week, not just your day.
Photos are best for a plate of food. For anything in a packet, the label already has the answer — so the quickest and most accurate thing to do is copy it.
Scanning
Tap plus, then Barcode or Label
Barcode looks the product up. Label reads the nutrition panel itself, which is the one to use for own-brand items, imports, or anything the barcode doesn't find.
Check the serving
Labels are per serving or per 100 g, and the pack's idea of a serving is often smaller than yours. Set the amount you actually ate before saving.
Save it as a meal, or as an ingredient
Log it now, or keep it as an ingredient you can add to meals later. Either way you won't need to scan it again.
Vitamins and minerals are copied, never guessed
When a label prints iron, calcium, potassium, vitamin D and the rest, the app transcribes them. It does not ask the AI to estimate micronutrients for a photographed plate, because that would be a confident-looking guess. For whole foods the figures come from published food-composition tables. Where nothing reliable exists, the app shows nothing rather than a zero.
Your week in nutrients
A single day's micronutrient figure is rough — good to perhaps a quarter either way. A week averages that out, which is why the dashboard tile shows today's pinned nutrients as small bars but opens into a weekly view. There you can see which foods contributed most to each nutrient, which is usually more useful than the total.
- The tile appears once the last seven days hold some measured data, so it never opens as an empty box.
- Four nutrients are pinned by default; choosing your own pins and the full weekly view are part of Standard.
