How to Save a Meal and Log It Again in One Tap
Most of us eat the same dozen meals on repeat. Star a meal once and it lives in Saved, ready to log again in a tap — and if you measured it with a sensor, the app shows you how it went last time.
Photographing a meal takes three seconds, but the meals you eat every single day don't even need that. Save them once and logging becomes a tap — which matters, because the meals you repeat are exactly the ones where a pattern is worth finding.
Saving a meal
Log the meal normally
Photo, voice, text or barcode — any way you like. Check the foods and portions are right, because this is the version you'll be reusing.
Tap the star
On the meal's detail screen, tap the star to save it. On iPhone, saved meals appear in a Saved section above your recent meals when you go to log; on Android they have their own Saved tab.
Next time, tap it to log again
Pick the meal from Saved and it's logged as a fresh entry for right now, with the same foods and portions. Adjust the portion first if today's serving is different.
Meals you logged while wearing a sensor are marked automatically
If glucose readings were flowing in from Apple Health or Health Connect when you ate a meal, GlucoPlot marks that meal as measured — no action needed. When you log it again later, even after the sensor has come off, the app shows “Last time you ate this, with a sensor on” with the real response from that earlier occasion. It's a reference from your own history, not a prediction for today.
Why repeats are where the signal is
One unusual restaurant meal tells you almost nothing — you'll never eat that exact plate again. Your standard breakfast eaten twenty times is a different matter. Small differences start to stand out: the days you walked afterwards, the days you added fruit, the days you slept badly the night before. Saving your regulars is what makes that comparison possible without the logging becoming a chore.
Tips
- Save the honest version. If your usual lunch includes the crisps, save it with the crisps.
- Keep the list short. Five to ten true regulars beat thirty things you ate once.
- Remove from Saved from the same star when a meal drops out of rotation.
- Saved meals sit alongside recipes. A recipe from the library you've made your own can be saved and logged the same way.
